sunday morning.

 top: fashion star x h&m
floral pants: c/o kristine's collection
necklace: c/o dear laura
heels: mango
bag: c/o carlo rino

There are so many things I adore about this ensemble, which probably explains why I've been caught wearing this exact same outfit multiple times (#guilty). I hate the fuss and the awkward crinkles that come with tucking a long shirt into skinny jeans, and since this button down has a lovely shapely tail, I decided to leave it out, as it satisfied a heightened level of both aesthetics and comfort. The 3/4 length is such a cute way to wear fitted pants, but can leave someone with muscular legs like me a stunted silhouette - hence the leg-lengthening nude pumps which have really been a lifesaver and an outfit-redeemer on numerous occasions. Everything you could possibly wear just looks ten times better and more credible in a sexy pair of nude heels, I'm convinced! I picked up this semi-translucent floral top from Buffalo Exchange when I was in New York this February, and I intend to visit (and revisit) that store until I'm wrinkly and bedridden. The floral texture of it works perfectly with the print on the pants and works equally well with denim shorts for a can't-be-bothered summer getup. I chose to button the shirt up all the way and conceal the collar with this overwhelmingly chic gold necklace that Dear Laura kindly sponsored me. It's like a cage/prison bars for my neck - except it's pretty and comfortable and I wear it by choice, if that makes sense. This slouchy purple bag from Carlo Rino is the most glorious color ever, and although it initially looked like a weird boxy square when it was hanging on the rack in their showroom, it transformed into this wonderfully creased leather must-have when I put it on my arm and filled it up a little. It's a grab-and-go holdall with excellent quality genuine leather, and looks perfectly slouchy no matter how full it is! Oh yeah, and this song will never, ever grow old.

golden days.

Belt: c/o OhMySmoothies
Clutch: c/o Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: Brandless

I've worn this dress so many times - it's a miracle it hasn't appeared in an outfit post yet! I love the muted champagne color underneath the floral lace overlay and the hint of flesh visible at the neckline. In my opinion, the waistline looks much better pulled in with a simple black belt for added shape and definition. To amp up the gentle color and feminine lace aspects of the dress, I paired it with glistening gold shoes and a scalloped pink and gold clutch from Dorothy Perkins - my new latest obsession (I even chose to bring it to Formal (prom) - stay tuned for a post on my Formal dress coming soon!). While the clutch enhanced the girly appeal of the dress, the gold elements made for a more daring, statement ensemble. I'm so relieved that my exams are finally over, so expect much more frequent posts throughout the summer as I document some of my sartorial adventures during my internship with Digital Fashion Week Singapore!

juicy couture: the modern pin-up girl!

I had such a great time at my first event with Juicy Couture a few weeks back! With yummy pink prosecco, live models, an awesome photobooth and two excellent hosts, previewing a collection has never been this fun. Juicy Couture's latest collection, entitled "The Modern Pin-Up," is exactly what its name describes. It's a fun, sexy and contemporary take on the classic 1950's Pin-Up girl, and in the world of Juicy Couture, that entails lots of color, preppy layering and plenty of gorgeous prints. What I love about Juicy Couture is the youthfulness and playfulness that resonates through every bag, dress or pair of shoes they design. Being sexy and sophisticated is fine, but when there's an element of beachy-cool freedom to your outfit, the result is something all women crave to exude: effortlessness.
 One piece - three ways!

One of the highlights of the evening was a mini catwalk presentation where the hosts showed us three equally gorgeous ways to style pieces from Juicy Couture's latest collection. I love this sequined dress; it's not excessively glitzy or cheap-looking and only when you take a step closer do you see the subtle sequin overlay. While the updated Juicy tracksuit top is cute, I prefer this dress with a simple navy cardigan and a dreamy tropical clutch.

I absolutely adored this cute little romper - it's not every day you see such a great balance of tropical playfulness and classy-chic, and I'm 100% sure that that's all down to the genius color scheme adorning the print. My favorite look definitely was the denim jacket and black clutch look - I'd love to be caught sporting that on a resort vacation! Juicy Couture's newest collection also includes nautical-inspired accessories which have a really expensive quality to them, despite sporting the excessive decadence synonymous with the brand. The chunky gold chain necklace (also pictured in the denim jacket look) is a wonderful addition to a mix-and-matched look.

I've honestly never thought hot-pink and red could ever go well together, but this neatly pleated shift dress definitely proved me wrong. I love the matchy-matchy striped belt which adds lovely shape to the dress, and that sparklingly clean white clutch is a perfectly preppy way to finish off the look. On the other hand, while I love the green bag and mesh cardigan to bits, I probably wouldn't decide to pair them with this dress. My favorite is the last look - from the glammed-up tote to the big floppy hat, this look is a wonderful marriage of different styles, textures and color. Recurring stripes equals nautical appeal; and you can never go wrong with that.

Since this event clashed with my annual last-day-of-school sleepover with my two best friends, I decided to drag them along for some Juicy Couture fun! Here are some pictures of us from the event and from the sleepover - check out our matching shirts! I was wearing a gorgeous dress sponsored by Kristine's Collection, check out their Facebook and Website.

kristine's collection.

Founded in 2009, Kristine's Collection has quickly expanded to be one of the most established go-to online stores for women in Singapore seeking fresh, fun and functional dresses (and occasionally separates) for work and leisure. With conservative cuts and feminine prints, Kristine's Collection offers weekly launches of clothing - all using the highest quality fabrics. Unlike many online stores in Singapore which source their apparels from wholesalers, every piece in Kristine's Collection is designed with love by husband-and-wife duo Kristine and Jason. Furthermore, every launch is accompanied by a limited number of bags and accessories - so fret not, if you're looking to complete your outfit, Kristine's got you covered!

Having done a handful of shoots with Kristine and Jason over the past month, we've grown to become good friends as well as business partners (bakkwa and cookies between outfit changes - yes please!). Although I haven't been working with them for long, I've already been dressed in a MASSIVE range of styles and colors over a mere few collections, showing the huge variety and diversity offered by this lovely homegrown label. I've also had the privilege of taking home a couple of courtesy pieces from their brand, and I've honestly worn most of those pieces far too many times to count - I love them!
