tinytea giveaway!

You've seen it all over my Instagram and Twitter. You've heard all the fitness and health gurus rave about it. And now, it's time for you to try it!

YourTea, has, quite simply, been one of the biggest blessings of 2013 for me. I had no idea that the simple idea of drinking three cups of natural, organic and yummytasting tea for a couple of weeks would have such a great effect on my lifestyle. YourTea believes in the power of natural ingredients in their unique tea blends, that serve to enhance your lifestyle and physique. Derived from traditional Chinese medicine principles, YourTea boasts a wide range of tea blends to cater for everyone. Here are some short descriptions of the following teas they offer: (skip straight to the TinyTea summary if you're pressed for time!)

ManTea: For all the guys reading this: the ManTea teatox is designed to enhance muscle growth and promote a lean frame. This tea blend is free from sugar, chemicals and preservatives, and you may continue to consume supplements and exercise as you would normally, as the natural tea blend won't interfere with any of that. ManTea contains Green tea (to burn fat, increase metabolism and maintain muscle mass), antioxidants (to curb inflammation and allow for greater muscle growth), Camellia Senensis (helps muscle tone and increases energy levels) and Licorice Root (for harmonizing all herbs).

HerTea: For regular, everyday use girls: if you're retaining a lot of fluid,
feeling sluggish and energy deprived and looking to get rid of some excess fat, her tea will reduce fluid retention, heighten your mood, improve your skin, manage bloating issues and aid digestion. Contains Oolong tea, ginger, chrysanthemum, lyciumchinese (goji berries), and additional Chinese Medicine Herbal ingredients.

AntiC Tea: For anyone who feels that cellulite and toxins have set up camp on your booty and thighs, never fear… AntiC tea is here! It contains Fu Ling, Camellia Sinensis, Dandelion root and additional Chinese Medicine Herbal ingredients to help you combat excess fats on your body for a leaner, meaner figure.

Fertility Tea: For anyone planning to conceive, Fertility tea will become your new best friend. It optimizes your ability to become pregnant by nourishing your reproductive, digestive and emotional health. The Fertility Tea blend has been hand selected with precision by natural fertility specialist Natalie Kringoudis. It's safe and perfectly balanced to naturally support hormones and regulate your menstrual cycle to maximize fertility potential. It contains goji berries, peppermint tea, dandelion root, camellia sinesis, which each target a different body part to ensure the maintenance of a healthy reproductive system.

TinyTea: The most wellknown of all YourTea's products, the famous TinyTeatox (14 and 28 day teatoxes available) is the one I've been drinking for the past month. It's for everyone who feels bloated, lethargic, and for those who want to make aesthetic changes to their body. It performs an intensive cleanse and nourishes your digestive system to assist with weight lost, fluid retention and toxin removal. Unlike other detoxes that contain laxative ingredients to momentarily flush out toxins, the herbal ingredients found in TinyTea gently and thoroughly cleanse your system. Your digestive system is the most important part of maintaining a healthy weight, and this tea supports that system for optimum aesthetic results. This tea dries phlegm, reduces waste and assists digestion. Drink TinyTea three times a day, half an hour before mealtimes for optimum results. Do note that upon initial consumption, TinyTea can cause slight stomach upsets, minor skin breakouts and cramps as it gets to work. However, these symptoms do disappear very shortly, and after a few days you should already be feeling the benefits of it! According to YourTea, you should see a reduction in body fat, fluid retention and cellulite, as well as clear skin and more natural energy. TinyTea contains Camellia Sinensis, Catsia, Lotus Leaf, Crataegus Pinnatifida and additional Chinese Medicine Herbal ingredients.

Phew! So now that you've read about all the amazing benefits you're SUPPOSED to receive from consuming YourTea TinyTea in particular, I'll now tell you a bit about my own experience with the teatox. I've received a countless number of questions about this and I'm sorry for not answering a lot of them; I only ignored them because I knew I'd be publishing a much more comprehensive review of my experience here for you all to read! Anyway, it's always nice to hear about someone's personal experience (and as a disclaimer, YourTea has not asked me to write anything in particular about their product, so this is all from the heart!), so here goes! After drinking TinyTea for 28 days (and I have to admit I wasn't strict enough with myself on the timings of my consumption; I ended up drinking 4 cups some days and 1 cup on other days!), I felt a lot better in many ways. I hadn't really changed my diet and exercise patterns from what they were like before, so the tea definitely had a slight slimming effect nothing exceptionally noticeable, but my stomach did feel a little tighter as a result of less bloating. The tea did an excellent job of cutting out my bloating entirely, which both looked and felt great. One of my favorite benefits of the tea was the fact that it also gave me tons of energy. I'm someone who needs a LOT of sleep, and even when I get loads of sleep I'm still very drowsy and yawny in the late afternoon; my tiredness hits me like a train at around 3pm and I find it hard to stay focused towards the end of the school day. Tinytea provided me with plenty of amazing natural energy, and it's not even caffeinated! I felt so much more productive and awake and was better able to make the most of my day. Furthermore, it helped with my metabolism and food cravings a lot. I still wanted my chocolate, I'm not gonna lie, but it served as a moderate appetite suppressant and over time I began to feel less hungry. Because the teatox forced me to consume three to four additional cups of tea each day, I felt a lot more hydrated because of all the water I was drinking. By the end of the 28 days, the pattern of eating less and "expelling" more waste fell into place, and that slight imbalance of losing more than gaining (aka a slight net loss of food in the cycle of food consumption and waste production) was what made me feel so thoroughly cleansed out. Slight improvements in my skin were noticed too!

All in all, I didn't lose weight and my appearance didn't change that much, but I'm okay with that. I felt so much better on the inside, so much so that it began showing on the outside a little! This is not something you should consider if you're aiming for a dramatic difference in body shape and looking for something that will shed off your excess fat. Through making me less bloated, clearing my skin, cleansing my digestive system, suppressing my hunger/cravings and forcing me to consume more liquids and stay hydrated, I came out of the 28 day teatox feeling better than ever  and the fact that it showed on the outside a little was just a bonus! Please remember that this tea doesn't contain laxatives and is very gentle, so it won't violently drain the fat/weight out of you. It's nourishing, organic and a healthy addition to your existing lifestyle!
Check out the following snaps from @TinyTeaTox's Instagram!

What I want to also mention is that for the first week and a bit of drinking the tea, I made an extra effort to work out loads and eat healthy, and for the short time that I did, I saw some great results appear on my body. However, I am still human (and a human undertaking the IB, mind you), so unfortunately I had some slipups here and there and fell slightly out of this healthy lifestyle rhythm, but I'm okay with that! I'm no fitness junkie and health guru, and I'm still learning :) Therefore, the benefits I described above will probably apply more to those who maintain the same lifestyle while drinking the tea, but as I discovered in just a week of drinking tea and exercising, Tinytea is even more effective and excellent when paired with exercise and a healthy diet. The one complaint I have about the tea is the fact that it caused me some tummy pain and cramps on the first two days, but they disappeared quickly and were very minimal while they lasted.

Now, enough with the rambling. This Christmas, YourTea and I have paired up to bring this transformational Tinytea experience to YOU! I'm giving away TWO 14day Tinyteatoxes for you to try, each worth USD$35! four ways for fall.

Crispy leaves, cooler temperatures and the most breathtaking colors mark fashion's favorite season to experiment with: Fall. And why, you ask? Well, for a start, autumnal leaves in a variety of toasty hues provide the perfect backdrop to enhance just about any outfit (yes, fashion bloggers do take such things into consideration!), but moreover, the season is cool enough to layer up, but warm enough to actually enjoy flaunting those layers by leaving coats and cardies unbuttoned (and to forget worrying about the wool content of each layer till wintertime!). Basically, layers are great, but only if people actually get to see them, which doesn't really happen in the winter when zips are up and buttons are suffocating you all the way to your neck. Living out of Singapore for the first time has allowed me the privilege of experiencing this sumptuous season for the first time, and I've checked off almost everything on my "to-do during Fall" list (jumping in crunchy leaves included) besides shopping for some new seasonal additions to my wardrobe. I've categorized my numerous fall wishlists into four key themes: Fur, Leather, Army Green and Houndstooth. If you've got a few pieces from each, you're set for a stylish season! Read on to find out more about my specific picks.
luxe fur + leather
(disclaimer: faux leather and faux fur are the ways to go! You can be environmentally conscious AND dress chic). For someone who used to be violently opposed to anything excessively furry/hairy/reminiscent of a fur couch throw, I've grown pretty smitten for these cuddly wardrobe additions. They're beautifully soft, super warm and comfy, and bring brilliant textural diversity to any outfit. Hats, scarves, vests/gilets and coats with fur accents are, in my opinion, the best ways to introduce a little cuddly lovin' into fall outfit ensembles. Try and select fur pieces in neutral or organic hues to make them look more expensive and effortless (no one likes a lime green fur coat, let's be real), after all - layering up is about nailing that breezy, supermodel-off-duty attitude. These options comprise some of Fall's more daring pieces, so keep the rest of your outfit simple and let the spotlight shine on the fur! Throwing on a pair of jeans should never be accompanied by the dreaded question of "how do I make this look more interesting?!" because now you have your answer; a statement fur separate, for maximum style points and toasty insulation!

Another big must-have for this season is faux leather, which adds another exciting layering possibility to your wardrobe! While boxy leather jackets might seem like a no-brainer for the season, I'm growing more and more inclined towards purchasing a luxurious, soft hobo bag like the Juicy Couture one above in a glorious shade of oxblood. Teeny satchels may fly for summer, but carryalls are a big must for this season. If I've learned anything from living in England, it's to always keep an extra layer with you for warmth (usually in the form of a folded up pashmina/shawl), and another extra layer for the rain (no, not a poncho, an umbrella). Select leather pieces in luxurious, rustic, deep shades of maroon, red, oxblood, chocolate brown, camel and rust (but not black - save the harshness for winter) to avoid the overly "biker" look that leather often suggests. Oh yeah, and leather boots are not an option so much as they are a staple for the season. Find your perfect pair now and hold those babies tight.

army green + houndstooth
One of the big sartorial cliches of the season is the military-chic look, which I always have and always will proudly jump on the bandwagon for. There's something about a muted olive green that exudes the most nonchalant, mysteriously captivating air. It's sophisticated but not unfriendly, trendy but exclusive, and undeniably perfect for the season. Don't limit yourself to typical army-style cargo skinny jeans and parkas/trenchcoats; why not try a cute suede ankle boot or scarf in olive green?

I am a self-confessed monochrome addict. Black and white is perfect, it's effortless, it's timelessly chic, it's universally suitable - it's basically everything except for suitable for fall, in my opinion. The harsh lines and geometric presence that black and white carries with it is too heavy and dismal for the hovering autumn temperatures. Leave the statement black-and-white till the warmer months, or even winter, but just not now. If you're still desperate to keep a bit of this two-toned glamour in your fall wardrobe, look no further than houndstooth. A sumptuously sophisticated, highly iconic and widely recognizable staple, this print is exciting enough to add a burst of detail to an outfit without that overdone, youthful, fluorescent "pop," characterized by most black and white prints. Houndstooth is mature, understated and very elegant, but should not be mistaken for granny-clothing. When worn correctly, it looks absolutely amazing! Like each of the "four ways" for fall, the key is to flaunt them in moderation. Houndstooth coats are beautiful, as are houndstooth skirts, but just not when they're worn together.

What do you think of these "Four Ways for Fall?" Let me know what your Fall wardrobe staples are in the comments below!

Meet Andrea Chong, a 21 year old fashion blogger/model/extraordinaire from Singapore - aka one of the most GORGEOUS people I know; inside and out. She is in her third year of university studying Literature as an undergraduate at Nanyang Technological University as well as the host of online fashion TV show, "That F Word" on clicknetwork.tv. Andrea loves to spend her time at traveling (she recently came back from a trip to Paris, where most of the images below were shot), reading, cooking, and trying to get her nonchalant cat to love her. I'm a huge fan of her distinctive personal style, outgoing, bubbly presence and stunning modelling pictures!

1. Something most people don't know about you:
I'm such a "housewife". I love cooking, and cleaning the house gives me so much satisfaction. Going to the household section in departmental stores actually makes me more happy than shopping.

2. How you started modelling and blogging:
I started modeling with online clothing store, Tracyeinny, in 2010. I guess other online shops took notice of me then and I've been modeling ever since! I started blogging in September 2012. The producer for my fashion show "That F Word" encouraged me to set up a blog so that I will have an increased online presence - I was a real social media noob back then, I had no blog, no instagram, and no twitter account. The blog also served as a good way for my readers to get to know me and my style a little better!

3. Your favorite pastime:
I would say I love to sleep and just surf tumblr or pinterest all day long, but who doesn't?! I guess I love food-hunting. My boyfriend and I are always finding new places to eat, and it's always fun trying new food with him! I love hiking and trekking as well - it has always been a favourite family activity since I was young.

4. Someone who always gives you a lot of support:
Definitely my parents and my boyfriend. They are always supportive of what I do, and are always there to give sound and rational advice, and emotional support. I don't know what I'd do without them!

5. Your least favorite food:
Hmmm, I don't like steak, is that weird?! There's just too much meat and I can never finish any steak if I tried!

6. A place you'd love to visit:
I'd love to spend a month traveling around Switzerland and visiting all their famous nature spots. I'm a sucker for nature-focused travel destinations!

7. A beauty product/tip you swear by:
Benefit Cosmetics' Hello Flawless Foundation for it gives my skin such a natural finish. But I swear by my Bosch 2-in-1 Hair Curler/ Straigtener the most, it is hands down the best hair curler and straightener I have used, and I don't think I can use any other brand. I am contemplating buying 5 of them just in case Bosch decides to discontinue the product. :/

8. How you stay in such trim shape:
I gym once a week, and I eat everything in moderation. I love my snacks and ice cream as much as the next person, but I will always ration them out over a few days. My meals are generally not very oily, and I must always have a balanced meal of carbohydrates, protein, and fibre (a.k.a rice, meat and vegetables). I try to avoid eating after 11pm as well as the body stops breaking down carbohydrates during the night.

9. Your favorite designer label and why:
I'm not really into designer labels, but I've seen a couple of Elie Saab gowns on celebrities which I really love! There is this Elie Saab lilac lace chiffon dress Mila Kunis wore to the 2011 Oscars which I cannot stop stop obsessing over. I would love to have it as my wedding dress!

10. Name something about yourself that you are constantly striving to improve:
I guess I would have to say everything? I'm always striving to be a better blogger, model, student, daughter, sister, girlfriend. I think if you start being contented and stop wanting to improve, something is definitely wrong. I believe in hard work and improvement - by wanting to better yourself, you bring in fresh ideas, stay on the competitive edge, love and give more, and be the best person you can be (:

10qq with willabelle.

One of Singapore's biggest names in fashion, blogger/model Willabelle Ong has conquered Asia's fashion scene and far beyond at the tender age of 18 (who knows what she'll accomplish next!). Her blog, www.paledivision.com, has garnered the attention of thousands of global fashionistas, young and old, and continues to grow at a commendable rate. From her candy-colored hair tendencies to her equally bold sartorial ones, Willabelle's youthful yet sophisticated taste remains close to the hearts of many of her dedicated readers and followers. Read on to learn a bit more about this successful fashionista's life!

1) How did you get started with blogging? Was it a long-time dream of yours?
The Pale Division blog was founded shortly after my Lookbook account was created as I wanted to document my personal style in greater detail. It was also a space for me to post inspiration, daily visuals and unnecessary word vomit. I don't think blogging was ever a long-time dream of mine, it simply happened.

2) What's the nicest thing a fan has ever done for you?
I'm flattered enough whenever a reader refers himself/herself as a 'fan'. Everything has been really nice - the long, encouraging emails, the wonderful illustrations, the shout-outs, etc.

3) What's your guilty pleasure comfort food?
Chocolate! Or ice-cream. I've been having too much ice-cream recently, even though we're currently experiencing winter...

4) What's your least favorite activity?
I dread any form of exercise but running has to be the worst. My stamina is hopeless.

5) What is your staple accessory?
Probably fine rings and a good pair of shoes. I like how a pair of kicks can make or break an outfit. Outerwear is always a favourite too! Light-weight pieces can be layered in summer while I'm all about faux-fur and woollen coats in winter.

6) What is the most important thing to remember about blogging and fashion in general?
Ignore the negative criticism and focus on the constructive ones instead. People will always have something to say behind your back. Just remember that's where they belong, right behind you.

7) If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
To stop worrying so much!

8) What do you love about yourself?
I don't know... I love how I'm surrounded by positive and encouraging people. Does that count?

9) Heels, booties, wedges or flats?
Heels... And wedges.

10) Hopes and dreams for the future?
To travel the world!

What do you think of Willabelle's blog and her eclectic sense of style?

+ Singer/Songwriter/YouTuber/Popspoken Entertainment Editor Zack Hourihane and I will be doing a Q&A video this coming week, so please tweet/email/tumblr ask me any questions you have for either of us that you'd like us to answer!

melissa x karl lagerfeld.

As weird as this sounds, Melissa shoes smell SO good. Next time you're walking through the shoe department and get a delicious whiff of something fruity, look around you and I guarantee you'll see Melissa shoes within a close enough radius for you to make a detour and check their shoes out - which are as awesome as they smell. They are made entirely of plastic, and therefore are 100% waterproof, lightweight, super comfortable and recyclable. All Melissa shoes are made in Brazil where the label hails from, and this brand is known most for its numerous collaborations with some of the most famed names in the industry such as Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood, and Alessandra Ambrosio, to name a few. This event, held at Mohammed Sultan Road, was celebrating the launch of yet another exciting collaboration (and easily my favorite): Melissa Shoes x Karl Lagerfeld!

The collaboration consists of two pairs of heels and two flats, my favorite of which has got to be the Melissa Incense (ice cream heels!). The Melissa team were generous enough to gift all event attendees a pair of complimentary shoes of their choice, and I'm sure you can guess which I picked! I wore these gorgeous shoes while hosting Sogurt's 3rd Anniversary Bash- they fitted perfectly with Sogurt's image of a sweet, fruity and fun destination! Karl Lagerfeld seems to have taken a recent liking to industry-darling Cara Delevigne (as if she isn't plastered all over the fashion industry enough, not surprising since she fronted the dynamic, bubblegum-colored campaign video. Karl Lagerfeld's four piece collaboration collection comprises of modern reinvention of four classic Melissa shoe designs. Here's a further look into fashion's favorite silver-haired star's collaboration with the Brazilian shoe label:

Melissa Ginga x Karl Lagerfeld
Paying homage to Melissa's country of origin by utilizing the colors of the Brazilian flag, Lagerfeld achieves a contrasting masterpiece of curvy striped detailing and a bold square front. Available in four fun color combinations - I'd have to say my favorites are the two variations in the centre!

Melissa Glam x Karl Lagerfeld
The pointy-toed flat is a timeless Melissa staple that appears in almost every collaboration, and Karl has added his own clean, minimalistic spin to the design by adding three clear hemispheres to punctuate the front of the shoe. Office-appropriate, weekend-appropriate and very comfortable - what's not to love?

Melissa Incense x Karl Lagerfeld
What better way is there to spice up an outfit than adding a sparkly ice-cream to it? Lagerfeld takes a bold risk with this fun accent, which spruces up a classic pump by volumes. The white variation might be easily matched with other pastel brights, but the glossy black option is perfect to complete a night-out ensemble.

Melissa Melissima x Karl Lagerfeld
The ultimate cross-section of functionality, comfort and chic - this medium height shoe boasts a double strap and comes in muted colors, both glossy and matte. Powerfully feminine and full of contemporary elegance; Karl Lagerfeld is certainly no stranger to those elements of design!

the delicious mini burgers served at the event | my outfit of the day | some props on the pop-up stage!

Melissa's "CineMelissa" FW13 collection bears a strong resemblance to the world of movies and theatre, and is divided into segments named after major movie genres: Action, Comedy, Drama and Romance. With distinct color palettes, quirky details and a promise of a cinematic happy ending, these iconic shoes inspired by the silver screen are bold, creative and lots of fun.

Collaborations for Melissa's FW13 collection are in full swing, with Jason Wu, J.Maskrey, Campana Brothers and Walt Disney back with new, refreshing designs. Commendable additions to the Melissa family include great new studded pieces, creepers which give a nod to WW2 London pub culture and mid-height chunky heels.

The Formula-One inspired flats in various black and white patterns on the far left are adorable!

The event was dotted with the cutest celebrity lookalikes decked out in Melissa footwear too - try and guess who these ones are! They were so much fun to take pictures of (and with!) and added a great dynamism to the event.

What do you think of Melissa shoes and the Melissa Shoes x Karl Lagerfeld collaboration, which is set to be welcomed again for another 4 seasons?

ootd @ sogurt!

Hello lovely people! I'm still in the depressing midst of exams so apologies for my erratic presence on the blog (and for my over-presence on Instagram - it's proved to be insanely good at distracting me from boring revision). I shot this quick outfit post while having froyo with Zack at Sogurt's Star Vista outlet, which has literally become my second home. It's situated at a perfect location (near MRT stations and my school!) and is such a great, healthy option for post-exam treats and catching up with friends. For those of you who have never been to Sogurt before, check out my step-by-step guide for the perfect Sogurt experience below!

 1. Pick a cup! Sogurt offers two different sizes for cups, and while I usually am able to restrain myself to a small one, I occasionally opt for the bucket-sized cup for a more... intense dose of froyo. The big cup is perfect for sharing between two or three people too! Sogurt doesn't charge you according to the number of toppings or the size of cup you choose - you pay by weight. And I don't know about you, but that for me is the most liberating thing about the Sogurt experience: you can have as much of anything as you feel like! (Marshmallow lovers pay virtually nothing for those featherlight toppings!). Some days I'm in the mood for a dessert-style froyo so I load up on various indulgent toppings and flavored sauces, and other days I'll grab a half-cup of plain Sogurt with strawberries for a healthy, quick snack option when I'm on the go.

 2. Fill up with froyo! Each outlet usually has about 4 dispensers with different flavors of Sogurt, and the flavors are often offered on a rotational basis. There's nothing more fun than walking into your usual Sogurt outlet and being surprised by a new flavor, and don't be afraid to ask for a tester to see if the new flavors offered tickle your fancy.

 3. Fill up with more froyo! Don't stop at one flavor. Or two. I usually layer my three usual flavors of froyo (nutella, strawberry and plain) in cute swirls, and contrary to popular belief, mixing flavors isn't gross. It's the best thing ever.

 4. Pick your toppings! This is arguably the most fun part - whether you're in the mood for chocolatey everything or you just want a classic berries/granola mix, load up with whatever you want and however much you want! My personal favorites have got to be strawberries, chocolate covered banana, white and milk chocolate chips, oreo cookie crumbs, almonds and digestive crumbs. Delicious!

 5. Weigh in! After you're done filling your cup with all things nutritiously delicious, place your cup on the weighing scale to pay (Sogurt charges $3 per 100g of goodness). To make the most of your Sogurt experience, collect a loyalty card and receive stamps for every $5 spent and plenty of surprise discounts along the way! Furthermore, Instagramming your Sogurt experience with the hashtag #sogurt gets you a little surprise too.

Top and Clutch: c/o style.in.kind, Necklace: c/o Katja Tamara, Skort: Zara, Cross Bangle: c/o OhMySmoothies

See those vouchers on the table in that last picture? I'm giving a BUNCH of them away real soon so stay tuned for that! Use the hashtag #SISxSogurt on Twitter and Instagram and I may just surprise you with some vouchers!
But here's the exciting part:

Sogurt's 3rd Anniversary Bash at Zouk promises to be the most exciting event of the year! With free froyo, exciting games and prizes to be won, and free club entry for TGIW at Zouk - what more could you ask for? It's going to be an incredible night of froyo fun with the best froyo chain in town, and it'll cost you barely anything considering all there is for you to win! Tickets are available from any Sogurt outlet, so make sure you get your paws on some for you and your friends before they run out! You're not going to want to miss the biggest party of the year!

lomography!

With a delicious potluck feast, walls lined with funky cameras and hipsters aplenty, Lomography Singapore's 20th Anniversary Party was the perfect way to kickstart my weekend with the ever-lovely Zack. Admittedly, such an event wasn't exactly a fashion blogger's stomping ground, and given my lack of proficiency with cameras/electronic devices in general, I felt a tad out of place, but I got up and did the macarena anyway and then I made friends and ate lots of cake. My knowledge about photography doesn't even exceed Instagram, but I can't deny my love for the lightweight, colorful cameras and the one-of-a-kind effects that they bestow on photographs of any kind. Meerly Wang, Managing Director of Lomography Singapore, was lovely enough to have a chat with Zack and I; she named the fish-eye lens as her all-time favorite and recommended the "La Sardina" camera for rookies like myself - so who knows, maybe I'll start my photography career with Lomography soon!
