watercolor textures.

 booties - zara
pants - h&m
clutch - c/o katja tamara
top - tout a coup c/o i.t.
watch - c/o juicy couture

I'll be back in Singapore next weekend and I couldn't be more excited to be greeted at the airport with a gust of humid, gloriously hot air, the smiling faces of my parents and the Christmas spirit in the air. I've never spent Christmas away from Asia, so I oddly associate Christmas a lot more with the heat than with the cold in which I now spend most of the year in! I picked up these watercolor-streaked pants for £5 (yes that is five pounds everyone) at H&M; they're probably the best bargain I've ever gotten at a high street store and I love them to death for their thigh-slimming properties and exciting colors. I paired them with a super soft knit top with gorgeous sheer detailing from Tout A Coup (available at i.t. concept store in Wisma Atria), which I raved about in this blogpost after attending the opening of i.t. and being gifted a generous $100 to spend in-store on the night of the event. My stunning Zara booties have finally gotten the chance to be featured on my blog; I love them so so so much even though they cause me a lot of pain. The sleek black heel, the silver zip, the nude suede and the magenta platform - what's not to love? Yet another texture is introduced into the picture in the form of a stunning python clutch, handmade in Bali, courtesy of Katja Tamara. It's luxurious and raw to the touch with a soft, flexible shape, a discreet magnetic closure and a size that is just perfect. Last but probably most important of all is my new favorite piece of wrist-candy: the Juicy Couture watch I won in the lucky draw at their opening event at MBS! I've never won a lucky draw (or anything of the sort) so I was particularly chuffed to walk away with the Swarovski-encrusted gold beauty on my wrist!

So there you have it: gold stainless steel, python skin, suede, knit and denim. Textural mash-ups have never been so fun!

threepurs.

Once upon a time, there were three lovely sisters, each with a unique yet equally vibrant enthusiasm for getting dressed up. To cut the long (and wonderful!) story short, "Threepurs" (pronounced "triples") is Singapore's newest online store run by these three ladies who I absolutely adored working with during the shooting of their debut campaign. Scroll down for some of the Images shot and edited by my darling Amanda (visit her blog here!).

Threepurs conscientiously caters for fashion lovers through a holistic online buying experience, and offering unparalleled service and excellent quality apparels are at the top of their list of priorities. Threepurs strives to be a hallmark of fashion, creating and providing a wide selection of fashionable and trendsetting apparels as well as accessories for everyday wear. From fashion news, hot styles to the sisters' own editorial picks, Threepurs hopes that every shopper will be able to realize their own individual style through their online store.

As I mentioned earlier, I had a total blast shooting this campaign. With a great makeup artist, my favorite photographer and the prettiest shoes and clothes I've been lucky enough to wear in a long time, it was a sweltering hot afternoon of lots of giggles and fun in the sun. The two looks you've seen in the pictures above are both uniquely glamorous in their own way. The ruched floral dress is perfect with beachy sandals for a sunny vacation, or paired with a cropped blazer and heels for a sparkling night out. As for the slinky black top and fitted white skirt, Sherlyn couldn't have chosen a better footwear option to match this ensemble than good ol' Jeffrey Campbells! Who says you need a crazy color palette to nail a killer outfit? (P.S. Never try walking on an uneven rock surface in heels, it's not nearly as glam as these pictures suggest. It took us more than a few goes to nail these snaps without me toppling over!)

After an exhausting but exciting day shooting at various locations dotted around East Coast Park (see the goofy behind-the-scenes pictures above!), I went straight to shoot a video with Zack (bottom left image) and was so chuffed to be able to take home this gorgeous black off-shoulder blouse and wear it to my video shoot. It's such a comfortable, versatile piece that shows just the right amount of skin - instantly a staple in my wardrobe!

ALSO, be sure to follow the three simple steps above to stand a chance to win an iPad Mini in celebration of the launch of Threepurs! Make sure you encourage all your friends to take part too, as the contest is only running if they hit 3,333 likes before September 30th. Stay tuned to all the exciting Threepurs action by following their social media platforms here; you'll have a bigger chance of winning the iPad Mini if you follow them on Twitter and Instagram too!

assorted inspiration.

When I'm feeling particularly uninspired or if I'm just craving an injection of aesthetic gloriousness, I thankfully have an array of favorite street style blogs to turn to, namely the ones linked underneath the pictures above. There's nothing to brighten up your day/chase away thoughts of looming exam results like the eclectic, vibrant colors showcased in the images above. If there's anywhere you most definitely should dress like a fluorescent lollipop, it's to a fashion show. Why? Because fellow dotty fashion folk will most likely think you're utterly fabulous, and you probably won't find yourself on a celebrity gossip magazine's "worst dressed list." In fact, you might even have the likes of Tommy Ton chasing after you! In the unlikely event of a fashion faux-pas, rest assured that fashion photographers don't bother snapping pictures of, well, people not worth snapping pictures of. In other words, you won't be getting negative attention for a wardrobe disaster, you'll simply be getting no attention - making fashion shows the perfect place to take a risk and break out those awkward-yet-chic brogues you've been dying to take out for a spin. After all - anything looks a trillion times more stylish in the fuzzy glow of fashion week, so success rates for style are thankfully high. I love seeing street style photographs during fashion week in the major global style-capitals of the world; if I ever get a chance to attend the likes of NYFW, I feel like I'd be equally satisfied with standing outside and gawking at the overwhelming concentration of beautiful human beings in beautiful clothes as I would be watching a fashion show. Dressing up is literally half the fun.
