When Emily Thorne sets her sights on something – be it a beach house or a boyfriend, you can be sure she always gets exactly what she wants. With her tricky scheming, her box of secretsand her intense plot for revenge on the wealthy Grayson family, it’s a miracle she’s still able to go about her messy business and get her hands bloodied while donning some of the most fabulous clothing I have ever seen. In fact, I’m beginning to wonder which is more killer – her stash of gunsand weapons, or that fierce wardrobeof hers. ABC Family’s new hit series Revenge isn’t only a new TV-show addiction of mine, it’s also recently become a huge source of fashion inspiration. I zoomed through all 22 episodes of Season 1 throughout the course of my summer, and I am fidgeting in my seat as I type this – itching to know what fate Season 2 holds for the wealthiest bunch in the Hamptons.

“We want to keep Emily clean so that nobody ever expects that she is doing what she is doing, so we put her in a lot of light colors. She is simple but elegant.”
It’s been immensely difficult to exercise discretion while leafing through my huge collection of pixelated screenshotsshowcasing Emily’s stylish ensembles (yes, I do pause the episodes periodically to admire and capture Emily’s outfits of the day), so the outfits I’ve featured here almost cover her entire wardrobe from Season 1. I’ve tried my best to identify the designers of most of her dresses, however you can never be 100% sure of accuracy when you read something online, so apologies if I get them wrong!
The Outfits
Designer: Rachel Zoe
Location: The Grayson's Yacht Lunch
.
Accessorized with a simple gold cuff and Emily’s signature blonde curls, this simple dress is striking in its shocking white hue. The loose, relaxed silhouette is perfect for a nautical luncheon in the sun..
The Verdict: 7/10 – I’m a sucker for togas!
Designer: Fendi
Location:Daniel Grayson’s Polo Match
.
This gorgeous, royal blue number works wonderfully for a day at the races – all that’s missing is a piece of decadent headwear for maximum race-day appeal! Cinching with a thin metallic woven beltwas the perfect way to pull together the ensemble.
.
The Verdict: 8/10 – The color suits her perfectly and the dress is so timeless!
Designer: Dolce and Gabbana
Location: Open Arms Benefit Ball
.
This iridescent, figure-hugging gown oozes with elegance and suits Emily’s figure perfectly with its flattering, ruched fabric. It brings out a certain gleam in her blonde tresses, and when paired with a simple jewel drop necklace and a satiny box clutch, it makes the perfect statement for an evening ball.
.
The Verdict: 7.5/10 – This look couldn’t have been accessorized better!
Designer: Lela Rose
Location: Grayson Manor
.
Thiswispy, feminine confection is light enough for summer, but retains a formal quality appropriate for meeting the soon to be in-laws at Grayson Manor. The muted color leaves the spotlight solely for the intricate netted fabric overlay, and the off-shoulder neckline accentuates Emily’s long neck and defined shoulders. The solid fabric underneath the lattice ends a few centimetres before the neckline of the dress, allowing the delicate lattice to provide a seamless transition between clothing and skin.
.
The Verdict: 9/10 – Not only do I love the lattice weave detailing, but the long back of the dress provides an interesting twist to an otherwise timeless creation! “It’s always beautiful, graceful fabric with good drape.”
"The great thing is that [some of] these designers were around back in the day, so they have designed for some of the most beautiful women in the world during a ladylike time."
Designer: Lafayette 148 New York
Location:Emily’s Beach House
.
Thesimple white floral pattern goes hand in hand with the bustier-style dress and complements the pale pastel color palette of Emily’s luxuriously furnished beach house. The pleat-stitched skirt adds a feminine dose of volume to the ensemble, and dimension to the floral print.
.
The Verdict: 8.5/10 – The simplicity of the silhouette combined with the gorgeous floral fabric make for a winning ensemble!
Designer: Jason Wu
Location: 4th of July Gathering
.
This dress kicked up quite a storm with Revengefans (type in “Emily Thorne RevengeFashion,” and the Autofill suggests “Red 4th of July dress!”), and for good reason. The stunning twist neckline is easily the highlight of this statement Jason Wu number, and the sleek back straps that caress her strong shoulder blades are elegantly flattering and innovatively architectural. Accessories were appropriately kept to a minimum to ensure the focus stayed fixed on the blazing red dress. Naturally, Emily chose a subtle, gleaming metallic clutchand a simple gold cuff to gently complement the dress. .
The Verdict: 9.5/10 – The tailoring and anatomy of this dress take my breath away every time I see pictures of it. The neckline, the strappy back, the color… omg.
Designer: Valentino
Location:Mother & Daughter Luncheon
.
This delicate, summery strapless dress is an absolute vision on Emily. The alternating tiers of the dress feature two completely different yet complementary fabrics, colors and styles. The top of the dress is scalloped and coated in a lace overlay bearing subtle, floral motifs, and the second fabric used is a thinly pleated, buttercup-yellow delight. Tied neatly at the waist with a simple yellow-string bow and teamed with a dark berry-stained lip, this look iswonderfully colorful and dynamic without being fussy.
.
The Verdict: 10/10 – Hands down favorite. I have zero criticism for this stunningly crafted masterpiece – perfection at it’s best!
Designer: Port 1961
Location: Wedding Photo Shoot
.
Surprisingly simple yet laced with tasteful details, this stunning, perfectly fitted Port 1961 dress looks smart on Emily. A tissue-thin, ivory colored sheath encapsulates the top half of the dress, adding a romantic touch to an otherwise timeless ‘LWD.’
.
The Verdict: 9/10 – Nothing makes a dress more appealing than a simple design, a complementary color and a good fit.

All quotes by Revenge costume designer Jill Ohanneson (I’m seriously not surprised she won the Costume Designer’s Guild Award for a contemporary TV series, she completely deserved it). She’s done a fantastic job at tastefully tailoring a signature style for each one of the female characters on the show, and has continually selected the most beautiful pieces to complement each distinctive style. And Jill: feel free to ship over any Revenge wardrobe cast-offs, I would be appreciative of anything and everything I could get my hands on from the Revengedressing rooms, and I’m sure my comparatively meager collection of clothing would be, too.
What do you think of Emily Thorne’s wardrobe? Which outfit of hers do you like the most?
Are you as much of a Revengeaddict as I am?
